Mongolian Spots

mongolian spots

Mongolian spots are blueish, grey spots found in newborns. They can be confused with bruising. Mongolian spots usually occur on the infant’s gluteal area (butt) and can appear on the back, arms and legs. They are more common in children of African or Asian descent. Mongolian spots typically fade away over the first couple years of life.
