Sunscreen for Children

What type of sunscreen do you use for your children?

I do not recommend a specific brand of sunscreen. For our children, we use “sunscreen sticks” with SPF 50 or greater for their faces. These are thick, non-irritating, easy to apply and do not run into their eyes. On their bodies, we use either a “continuous spray” or lotion with SPF 50 or greater. My boys and sometimes my girls will wear surf shirts to the beach. Surf shirts are great as there is no need for sunscreen in the covered area and they (unlike sunscreens) are truely “water proof”.

Sunscreen should be reapplied every two hours when in the sun.
